| I think the LOTR films are brilliant, absolutely. My favorite movie trilogy of all time, I think. As for Kong? I enjoyed it as a big, noisy, escapist action movie, perfect Summer Movie fare, only in November. But after I saw it, it struck me that all the hubbub about it being a "Best Picture" contender was preposterous. The story and acting are far too thin to merit consideration as anything more than an effects-laden popcorn film.
