| Totally NJC, but speaking of S & M, isn't it pretty fascinating the various trappings, accessories, bells and whistles we've concocted to accentuate Nature's 2nd or 3rd most basic act? Bondage, domination, leather, rubber, latex, stockings, high heels, lingerie of a thousand kinds, etc.... What do any of these things really have to do with the procreative act? And why have we come to associate all these things with sex? Not that I'm complaining, mind you, just wondering. To me, sex is the Ultimate Bait & Switch. Take a pretty girl (or hot dude, to be fair) and dress them up in stereotypically sexy clothes, mini-skirt, tight jeans, half-shirt, etc., throw on some lipstick, eye shadow, curl the hair, whatever, and now they become an object of sexual desire. Okay fine. But when I'm lusting after a hot girl, the LAST thing on my mind is making a baby, even though the first thing on my mind, or near to it, is doing the baby-making act. And am I thinking about giving her a big fat belly and seeing her in baggy sweats with no make-up and her hair up in a bun for the next two years? No. And yet that is the end result that all these trappings of sexuality are ultimately designed to lead to, intentionally or no. I just find the whole thing fucking bizarre.
