This is one of those movies that I refuse to watch EVER AGAIN. I saw "Signs", not "The Village" or "Lady Of The Lake", and that wasn't AS bad. The movies aren't bad, don't get me wrong, but I watched it around... hmmm... year 2000 and I've suffered from a lot of anxiety and stuff like that since 1995, roughly. I'd always have these unbelievably frightening dreams and no one could figure out why. But THIS movie, and the first scene you described (also the one of the two people hanging & the boy who has half of his head missing) freaked me out so much that I've said to all my friends, and anyone I know, "I want $1000 if you absolutely insist I have to sit through it again."

I'm serious, that movie SCARRED me. I haven't seen it in seven years, and I still try to forget those bits. It wasn't scary it was just unsettling. "The Exorcist" was stupid, but "The Sixth Sense" really got to me

That said, I'd love to work with Shyamalan one day :D And I'd love to see him collaborate with Jim
