http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/music/sites/bonnietyler/pages/babypinkstar_total_eclipse.shtml Visit Link Above For Full YouTube Video Stick Music: 29 January 2007 Suitably bonkers guitar-disco reading of classic 1980s power ballad. In terms of defiantly over-the-top power ballads, few can beat Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse Of The Heart. Written and produced by Meat Loaf's on-off collaborator Jim Steinman, it was released in 1983 and sold roughly a zillion copies worldwide. Sheffield electro rockers BabyPinkStar began performing the song as an encore to their live set in early 2006. Reactions grew and it became a firm favourite among fans. Word found its way to Tyler, who agreed to sing on a recording - a collaboration completed in just one day. Bonnie's graveltastic vocals have degraded ungracefully over the years, and BabyPinkStar's disco treatment isn't the disaster it could easily have been. Plus there's a video with some stupendously wooden acting, and a man in a ginger afro wig and boxer shorts leading a formation dance. Hurrah! Either it's the most misjudged musical exploit since Metal Machine Music, or proof that you can't keep a great song down. Until Westlife release their version in March, at least.
