I can definitely recommend Children of Men as well. I went to see it tuesday, and what a thrilling piece of dystopian sci-fi that is. And handsome as hell. It really goes in the category with some great sci-fi non-tech fixed dramas like Clockwork, Brazil and especially 12 monkeys. It was a very moving film indeed.
I do think the movie was flawed tho, with an appearance of fuck-off boring themes like homeland security, immigration and so on. Seen a thousand times before. But it was IMO one of the great movies of 2007 so far along with The Prestige, and hopefully Pan's Labyrinth as well as Sunshine and a few others.
