Quite so. It's arguable, but my opinion is that the best representation of Jim's work is Tanz der Vampire, so I don't believe that his best work has been with Meat, though Bat 1 is a very close second.
I've seen Meat several times, from back in '82 to RAH last year. His voice at the live shows hasn't been anywhere near as good as it was in the studio on Bat 1. It's always been a disappointment. Compare that with (for example) Elaine singing IACBTMN in March, which was simply stunning. Now there's someone who has always been able to do Jim's songs justice.
