I’m lucky to have an “advanced” copy of this CD, and would like to share my thoughts here and now. This “sequel” totally exceeds the previous NBMN Project. Disc 1 starts off with BMV pounding the piano during “BAT OVERTURE” then he hands things off to baal for a stunning “thunder-road-esque” piano instrumental BAT. Totally thrilling start!! I’m not going to go through a track by track review, but will mention those that stand out: * Markus’s interpretations of CHILDREN and BODY are lonely, desperate and creepy - - I like it!!! * Ryan is over-the-top all the time. * BMV contributed some brilliant instrumentals!!! * Gavan contributed an interesting & original take on PIGS, and a guitar that would make Jerry Seinfeld proud. The best part of this version is that it doesn’t take it’s self too seriously, with great use of a Steinman monologue. * Beautiful version of WHISTLE by Laurie!!!! * Brilliant intro on LEFT IN THE DARK with thrilling vocals that suggest a merger of Jim Steinman, Rascal Flats, and Dashboard Confessional, and surprisingly enough – it works! Probably my favorite track on the album!!!!!!!!!!!! * Mathais’s take on HEAVEN really has a Billy Corgan / Smashing Pumpkin vocal sound. Absolutely Love it! * The Hungarian Tracks STEAL THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! * The Second HEAVEN sounds as if it’s a long lost Elton John demo! * Cash? WHO IS CASH?? Love her TOTAL ECLIPSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like HEART only Heart with heart! * WOW – Aaron’s version of Surf’s Up is pulsing w/ passion – if only we could capture his passion and distribute it to the world – it would be a different place for sure! * Holy weird “MORE NOCTURNAL PLEASURES” by Scaramouche. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beats ALL DESMOND SONGS on BAT III! Ahahahahhaah – I MEAN THAT, but perhaps its not a compliment you want! Ok – I know I’m leaving some out – but WOW – Congratulations to all involved – what an incredible tribute of talent to an incredible talent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
