| Libertarians basically beleive that there should be as little government as possible. Basically, you should be able to do what ever you like as long as it doesn't effect me and the government should stay out of it for the most part. For example drugs should be legal, but driving a car while high would be illegal because now your choices effect others, not just yourself. This country WAS started as a libertarian country for the most part, but we have really fucked things in the last 200 years. All the really smart people I know seem to be Libertarians.... A secular progressive is just a liberal who thinks there is no place for religion in government... period.
