I might be a bit biased because I love the album and LOVE to hear fans of Jim perform his music. Like Justin's review, I'll just point out some highlights:

1. Baal had originally wanted to submit an entire rendition of BOOH on piano, but, due to time contraints couldn't make it. We decided to combine our pieces for the opener. I really wish I could have heard a full version of Bat. This also explains why Baal has no album liner notes. This was literally a Zero Hour submission...right down to the wire.

2. I love Markus' "lost" breath at the very end of Body. Such force used for this song!

3. Both of Ryan's tracks stand out on the album. I'm very fond of the intro/outro to Confessions. Some of this spoken word I've never heard before and it works wonderfully! (just have your hand ready to turn the volume down on your headphones when he screams out: "UNABLE TO DIE!" at the end.)

4. I too enjoy Gavan's "Pigs". Especially love Jim's "guest" vocals on the song.

5. Cash's version of Paradise. I love this! It's rare to hear a cover of this song use the original instrumentation from the album...but doing so gives the original a run for its money, I think. Coen's keyboard skills are obvious in this track. Certainly one of my favs on the album!

6. Surf's Up. Another favorite. Great piano work. Great voice. Nothing else needed. I enjoy the "amateur" feel of the recording to the "professional" rendition of the song. Especially enjoy the applause at the end!

7. Nocturnal Pleasures. Another favorite. "Holy weird" puts it best. And a great album-closer if you ask me.

Some notes on the production: you may notice some backwards-ness (Vin, is that proper grammar?) on the tray-card spines. Not sure why the printer re-arranged this. Not a big deal, but looks kinda silly.

The front traycard and booklet were re-produced by different printers, so the color saturation differs.

CDs and traycards were produced at www.mixonic.com for any of you who are interested. They also handled NBAMN I and were recommended back then to me by JD who used them to reproduce copies of The Dream Engine which were given out to Rockman Philharmonic members.

Let's do this again in 2012?
