I think the "Tanz" StN IS the definitive version, musically at least. What I would want Jim to do is simply record amazing English language vocals over the "Tanz" backing tracks. I just don't think he could do much to improve on the original musical production on the "Tanz" album. > I draw everybody's attention, if I may, to the mythical > next 'thing' that meat spoke about a bit in interviews a > while ago (tho he apears to have stopped talking about it > now?) in which he would record a new Stienman song or two > and he 'wanted Steve Lukather on guitar for it' (which in > my opinion would be no bad thing at all). > > Is it possible that that might end up being one in the > same with "Jim Steinman's Bat out of Hell" concept album > with a cast of thousands? > > It is entirely possible (almost likely?) that meat would > be expected to appear on the album somewhere (albeit by > ignorant press types and passing music fans), but he's > already recorded all of the songs on the bats thus far > (obviously) so it logically would have to be a new song. > OR (or maybe as well as) any song from bat 1 or 2 might > appear in some 'other' form, perhaps a demo of Meat and > Jim from Bat 1 (which Meat also reckoned would be on this > 'thing'). > > Jim said there were no plans to work with Meat which > everyone took to mean that Meat was crapping on with a > fresh batch of lies -- but it's possible it's just > different sides of the same story again (like it's been > the whole time). > > The Dream Engine's recordings of the songs that were on > bat 3 could be destined for the concept album, the "new > Steinman songs" that Meat was crapping on about might be a > sketch of an idea for the same disc, thus satisfying > Meat's claims AND keeping the songs Meat got his grubby > little hands on for TMiL OFF of the Deam Engine's album > (which I think is good). > > It'd be nice if TDE were on the concept disc doing Seize > the Night, because it'd be some sort of peace offering to > the bastard step child of the Bat franchise ASWELL as > creating the Definitive Version of the song... > > I love Kyle, but his is just a demo afterall.
