Merciless Review of the Night !

Thought I'd post a review of the CD:

Brian M. Van Hise - Thanks for time, energy & expense in putting together a great package! Love the passionate piano playing on all your tracks, but 'Braver...' edges it for me.

Jacqueline Dillon - Thanks for continually running the site & for 'sexy eyes in booklet'.

Baal - Cool arrangement & some nice fluent playing.

Markus Funk - Really nice 'emotional' vocals, especially the last minute or so of 'Body...', and some great piano.

Ryan Letizia - Great theatrical vocals on both tracks but '...Permitted' edges it for me, and love the use of 'the entire city is burning'.

The spoken intro to 'Confessions...' is spot on!

A bit OTT on the vibrato in places, but otherwise great.

The Smegheads - Love the use of 'Who Needs The Young' & 'Surf's Up', to introduce the spoken word pieces.

Also a cool acapella from Mrs Smeg on 'Future...' (eat ya heart out Erika Christensen)!

It's clear Smeg loves 'Neverland', and I think Jim could do a lot worse than to hire him as a 'creative consultant' on the Bat musical, maybe sending him script segments for feedback?

Aaron Cumberledge - Love 'Teenager In Love', as the passion & enunication of the vocal is real close to Jim.

Nice vocal on Surf's Up, and pretty good for a 'live' take.

Gavan Michael - Love this version of 'Pig', and is my favourite track on the album (Meat Loaf has now been demoted to third). Love the arrangement, containing some great piano parts, and an infectious bass line, along with some cool vocals, and great use of 'Wasted Youth'.

Stroke - 'Props' (I sound like Randy Jackson) for trying something different with the acoustic take. I actually liked the more 'menancing' muted string start, than the strumming, and more of this may have worked better.

Laurie - A sweet, almost 'lullabye-like' version.

Mathias Kahlke - Real nice 'breathy' vocal, and some cool keyboard sounds.

Sandor Venyige & Co - Great productions, and the best vocals on the album!

Andrew Nicholson - I also love the choral intro from Cecilla Vennerster! Great backing track, and some nice vocal phrasing!

Cash - Great versions from an obviously competent band, and love the female vocal (always loved a Euro twang to a female voice, which is why I love Abba)!

Eclipse edges it for me.

Sean Maloney - Great 'Meat' vocal; up there with Sandor Venyige!

Gregory Kaber - Nice variation!

Vin Sidious - 'A' for effort, but the vocal needs work.

In fact 'A' for effort to everyone !!
