More than anything I'm glad to hear you say that the show at the draft reading was too complex or intellectually challenging. For me Neverland struck a nerve. I think it had its problems (what my wife calls the Studenty Moments)... places where it was too abstract or things that didn't fit together the puzzle pieces properly. I understand (in a way I don't think Sarah did... no offence hon) is that the Studenty Moments fit the idea of a bunch of kids stuck in Pubesence... but when the abstract leaves the characterization and enters the story structure I think that can be detrimental to the overall piece. My biggest fear in transforming Neverland into Bat Out Of Hell is that it would become a show meant for the dumbed down masses. To me Neverland was so integeral to my being that to see it become castrated would be very sad indeed.

Never let them talk you out of following your vision... because this is your piece for the ages. Some things that are popular will be forgotten while others that are not popular at the time will live on in the collective consiousness.
