Notion video on YouTube

There's an 8 minute notion corporate documentary / advert piece about Meat Loaf using Notion software in conjunction with the string section on YouTube at

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvvy-CHZXVU

Now, by the way this was being gone on about at the time, I was under the impression that Notion was some sort of never-before-seen new wizz-bang way of double tracking live performances and making it sound natural or something.

When in fact, it appears to be a guy tapping at a keyboard like a metronome (!!! -- watch the video and tell me that isn't completely fucked up) that is triggering pre-recorded synth sequences and tape-loop dealies.

Can someone more technologically and musically savvy than myself tell me what makes this Notion shit even remotely revolutionary? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! Its a guy tapping at a keyboard for one and a half hours triggering pre-sequenced synth parts. Am I missing something here!?!
