Okay, review Merciless Night CD2:

Paradise By The Dashboard Light: You guys and the girl sound damn good! Really great music well produced and great singers too. My only complaint would be that I sometimes have a feeling the male singer sings words I´ve never heard before in this song. ;)

Heaven Can Wait: Sean, your version of HCW is amazing! The piano, the voice - perfect! One of my favourites.

Hot Summer Night: That´s a nice and funny little item and it really doesn´t hurt. ;)

Braver Than We Are/Say A Prayer: Maybe my favourite BMV track! Makes me forget the latest and ugly Jim version of BTWA. Jim! PLEASE! I´m against war in every form and I´d surely appreciate an anti war song by Jim Steinman, but again - PLEASE - write a completely new one with music that fits the lyrics and vice versa. Thank you very much.

The Future Ain´t What It Used To Be: Sarah, you have a great voice and I love this track as much as I love your Surf´s Wet! If only this time it wouldn´t be so obvious HOW it was done. But I know this from my recording with my sister on NBAMN I. Still a damn hard song to do! Congrats.

Still The Children: Markus, I think you did this song justice. I like your voice and I listen to it very often but I think next time you should kick your damn good keyboarders ass and tell him to mix it a bit more well balanced. ;)

Haláli a halál: Until now I knew exactly ONE hungarian woman. A very beautiful one. Now I know two very beautiful hungarian women and one with a great voice too! You were able to finish it and it´s a gift - thank you.

Cry To Heaven: Mr. Vin Sidious somehow this too reminds me of my first attemt on NBAMN I. Somehow... Your voice alone is not bad I think. But a bit of practice should help for NBAMN III! Especially with hitting the right ones. Hey, I really like your liner notes! ;)

Confessions Of A Vampire: If only, if only! To make it short Ryan: Why not start slowly and calm and give 100% when really needed? In your defence: It´s a really damn hard thing to sing Mr. Steinman wrote here. And remember to take one step back from the mic when needed! Sounds better in the end.

Total Eclipse Of The Heart: An all time classic and not only one of Coen´s favourites! I like this one even more than PBTDL. She´s a got a killer voice and the sound on this track is amazing! Another favourite.

Surf´s Up: Aaron and Scott, you are the first real contrast on CD 2 and some people would say I´m crazy for saying so BUT: I wonder why these not so perfect sounding recordings have the most charme!? WTF!? How are you doing this? I know how. Passion, emotion, total devotion. This is outstanding at least for me. Great voice, great piano player, hard song to do. And you did a fucking good job boys! Really love it! Applause! Anytime!

First Blood: Smeg, Sarah - let me just say "I´d miss something if you weren´t present on this record". Thank´s for the spoken parts.

Left In The Dark: Brian, will you please put your piano into your baggage when coming to Berlin in June? And let me know which song to practice before we meet. ;) I think LITD would be a good choice. Have I told you before what a great Steinfan and artist you are? This piano sound is SOOOOOOOO awesome! Thank you.

´More´Nocturnal Pleasures: Dave, this is of course a track that should get officially released someday! Can you give us some more info about this voice(s)? They are one of the most amazing things I´ve ever heard. I constantly play this while driving through those lonely nights with all those dirty things in my mind. And if I think of what Brian May did on Meat´s latest crime it´s no loss that he wasn´t available. What an end for this great CD!

I really want to thank every single person involved in this album for trying and giving the best they could! For us fans (contributor or not) of this greatest and fortunately still living and legendary composer Jim Steinman it´s obvious how much heart every single person has put into this! Jim you´re the genius and we thank you for every single note and letter with this CD. I guess it´s hard to find another living legend with fans like us and I hope you feel that your music really is our heartbeat. It´s mine. Smegs and Sarah´s liner notes sum it up very well:

"... has always found Jim´s lyrics touch his soul in a way that no other words do giving life to his emotions, and that his music proves that he is the greatest composer that has ever lived..."

Thank you.

Markus.
