Some vintage Roy Bittan

Just listening to this (from 1978) shows how much input Roy had into Jim's trademark piano sound. It's a great song (the piano makes it sound Steinmanesque in places, but although I can imagine Jim tackling some of its themes, it's steeped in a realism that Springsteen does very well, whilst Jim dwells more in the land of fantasy. Some of the imagery could be Jim's though).

Anyway, it's not a particularly rare clip and many of you will have no doubt heard it before, but it's well worth another listen for Roy's marvelous percussive piano.

URL: Roy (and Bruce, and a great song)
