A couple years ago a friend gave me some CDs by a band called Lacrimosa, which he said he found on the sidewalk. I played them in the background at the time but didn't pay much attention. I regret that now. I just played some tracks again and I'm really enjoying the band. In fact, while I wouldn't suggest they might be mistaken for a Jim project, they do fall in the steinmanesque category and might have been influenced by his work.

Lacrimosa would most easily be categorized as a gothic metal band, but they use lots of strings and the balance between strings and guitar is well done. Very theatrical. The lyrics are all in German.
