I just re-listened to Dead Ringer earlier this week, to be honest, it's my most-listened-to Meat Loaf album at the moment, and I had been thinking - this album is the perfect collection of songs for an insane Meat Loaf to sing. I mean, he really does sound psychotic on half the tracks; they compliment his insanity perfectly. He really does sound like a man who is going to break people - other people, or himself, or both. It's a really dark album, and I like it very much. I honestly don't think it would benefit at all from being re-recorded at more sane times in his life, regardless of whether he thought his voice had improved.
