Loved the music and the performers. The vocalists are truly stunning. There's not a single weaker voice in there, any song they do they do justice to and you can see their enthusiasm, which is just wonderful. Their perfection is also astounding, the way Strat recovered when he slipped on the water puddle was just wow. You saw their surprised faces, but they carried on as if nothing would have happened.
The orchestration also is fantastic! Love the pounding piano.
Special mention goes to 2oo3, which works perfectly as a duet. It even makes more sense that way than done solo.
Felt wonderful to be there and see Jims' lifelong dream finally hit the stage, just a shame that he wasn't there to see it in person too. I bet he would have loved not only the show but also the audiences reaction.
A few nitpicks I do have though.
The various characters would need a better introduction. Falco needs to be far more menacing, and this menace needs to be established right at the beginning of the show. His minions uniforms should also be reworked to look less like leftovers a sex shop offered for free because noone bought them. Cudos by the way to Falco who kept running around the stage in those ridiculous shoes. I certainly would have tripped.
Tink and his love for Start should be introduced sooner and more prominently. Tink has an important role to play, so he should have maybe a duet with Strat instead of just that dialogue. A few lines of Left in the Dark might do the trick.
As it seems to be a tad long, I'd rework the dialogues to be sharper and less repetitive (how often can you repeat "the sea is watching the sky, the sky is watching the sea" and get away with it?) instead of shortening the songs. Well, apart from Dead Ringer which really didn't do anything there.
Now bring on a studio cast recording please! (with skipable dialogues...)
