Jacqueline, thank you! The general vibe I was getting from the community at the moment was that this was a labour of love by fans, for fans and misled to belive it has Jim's blessing. I honestly didn't want to dampen the mood by saying that these projects, no matter there intention, looks a little amateurish. The Tyce project seems to have its heart in the right place, and for me, getting Julie and her husband to do the art adds something of an cohesive to Jim's work as I am a big fan of the cover art she did for Braver and I think she's done a good job here. It's a fine balence between past album covers involving Jim's work and the cheesecake angle they seem to be shooting this guy from and it seems to strike a good balance. Tyce, is someone who has a very natural ability to sing, the talent is there undoubtedly, he just seems like a guy who was told he can sing once and never sought any further training to hone his craft. Some songs he's okay, some not so much and belts out, whether it suits the song or not.

The Karienna album, bareing in mind I've not heard it all, seems to be a cash in off another cash in. I love Karienna, her Not Allowed to Love is one of my favourite recordings. But the sample of Braver that was shared seems like like they recorded her in a studio with a backing track being played out loud on a boom box in the same room. There's a disconnect between her voice and the song that seems amatureish to me.

This isn't a judgement on the quality of the finished products as I've not heard either and that's not really the issue here. The issue is that these well intentioned but seemingly misguided projects could potentially cast a shadow on the musical, which is far more important than either of these projects.

I agree!!!! You can't do Steinman without Steinman - and
