| I enjoyed the second viewing much more. We should have been in the same awful seats in the front row for the evening performance, but we spoke to the manager after the matinee and got moved to the house seats for the evening. Still not keen on the first act. Too much crap in Raven's bedroom. Even when you can see them up there the stupid camerawoman stands in front and blocks the view. What is the director thinking? Who Needs The Young is one of the most awful songs I've ever heard. Leave the music in Krolock's crypt where it actually sounds appropriate. The second act is so much better. It's worth the whole show just to hear What Part Of My Body - one of my favourite Steiinman songs, finally exposed to the public! Why do people think it's appropriate to sing along when then know a song?! I knew all the songs, so would it have been OK if I'd sung along to the whole show?! I think it's stretching it to call this show a "musical" - it makes We Will Rock You look like Shakespeare. But to be standing at the end, among hundreds of people going absolutely crazy for Jim Steinman's music, is an awesome feeling. | |
