I guess only time will tell. Someone would have to be very loud and intrusive to my enjoyment of the show for me to care about their singing. People sang next to me during Mama Mia when it opened in NY a long time ago. There was singing at Jersey Boys briefly too. Maybe it's not expected in theatre but this will break that tradition?
