This is me all over. I haven't used my ipod in the car for 6 months because the CD is in there. Normally, I've diverted back to Springsteen (I do tend to have a quarterly migration between the two without it being intentional) but at the moment, more than happy to stick with Braver.

My five year old asks when Going All the Way is coming on and sings along with most of it - which it just like a cycle coming around again to a time when i was 5 and was singing "gimme the future" over and over in my dads car. Even my two year old will put it on when she grabs the ipad, but i think as much because the cover attracts her.

I listened to Hell in a Handbasket a few times, Hang Cool Teddy Bear a bit more, Couldn't Have Said It Better (three or four songs) a lot, but put all those listens together and it's still nowhere close to how many times I must have listened to Braver. What Meat said is true, the more you listen to it, the more you notice, the hard edge of Meat's vocal that some people can't listen to (which I've always had a love of imperfect male vocalists so I had no problem with it from the off) becomes part of the overall piece and it sounds wrong without it. You listen for the way things are pronounced and the anomalies.

Some people will never like it out principle, some will eventually give it a chance and may change their minds or may not, some people will like it and grow to love it, some will love it and nothing will change the fact. That's the great thing about music - everyone can have an opinion, but they are right or wrong only to the person making them.
