Ahhh see... I felt exactly the same. "Who could ever remake Nosferatu?" Luckily I saw the original German version, but what annoyed me was that it used names from Stoker's novel (i.e. Graf Orlok was Dracula, Hutter was Jonathan Harker, Ellen was Mina etc.) but Kinski's portrayal as the Count is, to me, absolutely legendary and one of the best performances I have probably seen on film.

It's not like the original, but it has a great spiritual, personal quality to it (I can't really describe it) and is more real. It's not "supernatural" in any way
