Jim Steinman's Thoughts on Braver Than We Are

To be honest, writing and then working on every step of our new album, BRAVER THAN WE ARE, was at first just a "gamble" for me. No idea what to expect, but NOW, hearing it in its entirety---I can honestly say it's one of the GREATEST works of ART I've ever been involved in! It's astonishingly avant garde in the best possible way; experimental beyond belief; visionary; operatic; theatrical, SO SUBVERSIVE TO ANY ROCK OR POP of the last 20 years, Meat is HEROIC is his ravaged voice, tragically inspiringly heroic; I adore Paul's production; LOVE Justin's amazing keyboads and background vocals; It's a super surreal parade of almost towering expressionism; and overall a musical, not just a rock, but a MUSICAL work of genius!! (I didn't arrange or produce; my first song EVER is here in WHO NEEDS THE YOUNG and my latest, the extended bridge of SPEAKING IN TONGUES WHICH went from a fun dick joke to a profound reflection on life itself! And if I wasn't to be cremated, those are THE WORDS I'd want on my tombstone!!! (Obviously, SOMEONE would demand an edit--so I'd need a mausoleum! ) I.AM.SO.FUCKING.PROUD. You can't hear it till mid September, unless you heard iTUNES, who mistakenly "leaked" the entire album just on Wednesday - minus SKULL OF YOUR COUNTRY, the second song I ever wrote in 1968!! Dunno why that wasn't included but suffice to say, it's as subversive NOW as it was back then!! Nothing amazes me more than to end up with a record that, for me, stands with the top ten recordings of ALL TIME!! - Jim Steinman

Pre-orders are now being taken for Meat Loaf's eagerly anticipated Braver Than We Are release, slated for a September 16th drop.  This album features ALL songs by Jim Steinman and includes the title track, Who Needs The Young and Speaking In Tongues, among other collaborations.  Global reaction to the news of the album and the cover art has been immediate and unanimously celebratory!

I like to think that my job, and any artist's job, is to turn the profane into the sacred. That said, it is my communion with all of you that makes the process complete.

I wish you the very best in 2015 and always.  Thank you!!!   Love, Jim

This throne is inspired by Jim Steinman and designed especially for Jim Steinman.

This throne becomes a perfect unit with the owner by fusing with the steel wings, it comes with black leather upholstery, all work done by myself, like every other steelwork, cutting the iron, welding, forming, polishing, finishing.
Absolutely unikat single-item.
Duration of work 1-2month.
Best, Rob.

For all of you wondering where the sculpture in the "Christmas photo" came from...the sculpture was by Rob from Bayreuth......custom made and he's made a new piece--a "throne" as he calls it. ALL the works of art in that room came from geniuses in Bayreuth, Germany.

Attached is the throne, just finished and ready soon to travel here.
Love
Jim

PS - The sculpture is based on a set Karl Lagerfeld did for Chanel (that was based on Superman’s Fortress of Solitude - Clark Kent's secret hideaway in the Arctic).
