That depends....sometimes seeing the Pope is easier than seeing Jim! I have a first cousin who was talked to and touched by Pope John Paul II in 1995. I saw it happen live on television. None of us are Catholics as such in my family, but we still have reverence for the Pope, and I felt like our kin was anointed in blessing as one for all of us. Well, that's a good enough kind of dream as any.

There are really no promises that I can make on behalf of Jim, but this I believe I could. If we all get through this difficult corridor of acquaintance in one piece, I'll see to it that you get your signed sheets of "Surf's Up".

My artwork got lost in the upheaval I had a few years ago, but I drew a couple of portraits of Jim in 1992. I did not take any photos of him because my images were made by the pastels and colored pencils. I can tell you what you of course can observe yourself but may not think of: he almost never photographs twice the same way.
