| His real name isn't Steinman, it's Murray. And yes, now he does do it his own way, but he started as a tribute. And he's one of the better ones. Obviously I'm biased, but I think there's nothing wrong with performing a tribute. It's not like any of us actually BELIEVE we're the real deal (except maybe one, lol) and speaking for myself, it not the ONLY thing I do. I do different shows also, but the tribute shows pay more, and that is the sad fact. Another fact is that I became a tribute singer out of a love for the music, so it really is a TRIBUTE. It wasn't because I have some sick fascination with wanting to become someone else. The dressing up bit was just a bit of fun to start with, but people expect it, especially in some of the better venues (hotels etc) that I play. They have this image of how Meat is suposed to look, and they pretty much want you to fit with it. Mostly these days I just wear a black shirt and trousers, but the red scarf has got to be there to please the audience. > Steve Steinman, on the other hand, makes a huge exception > to that by actually having his own unique stage show under > the belt of his real name. | |
