1) About you
33 years old, live in East Yorkshire, UK, and a mother of 2 young boys; work part time at local university (just typing, nothing academic)

2) How you found Jim’s music
First heard Bat out of Hell on either radio or tv in 1979 when I was six years old. Loved Total Eclipse when it was released in the early 80’s and I taped it off the radio to play ad nauseum much to my mother’s delight. I didn’t realise at the time that it was a radio edit and was actually seven minutes long with, IMO, the best lyrics removed.

3) Have you ever met Jim?
Unfortunately not. I emailed him last year to wish him luck for the Dream Engine performances. That’s about as close as I’m likely to get!

4) Favourite Song
For Crying Out Loud and Anything For Love. Closely followed by Paradise and Left in the Dark, although it’s really hard to pick a favourite, they’re all fantastic. I had a CD of some of Jim’s songs which I’d compiled to play through my computer at work, but I’ve had to take it back home with me because I wasn’t getting any work done! His songs aren’t typical background music and I just found myself sat listening to the music and lyrics. Although I miss the music, my productivity rate has risen significantly!

5) Other interests
writing; attempting to learn the piano; currently trying to make another baby :)

5) Book Currently reading
“The Other Boleyn Girl” by Philippa Gregory. It’s about Anne Boleyn’s sister, Mary, but it’s rife with historical inaccuracies which makes reading it a bit irritating. Then again, it is a novel and the author is entitled to artistic licence, but still…
My favourite books are Wuthering Heights and Tess of the D’Urbervilles. I love a really miserable read! The Great Gatsby is a good book too.

I have got my own laptop now with internet connection so I hope to be able to post more in the future.

love,
Sarah
