| I mean, is there anymore info about it floating around in the universe? I am thoroughly enthralled by this concept of a 'bastard' song being so heavily incorporated into Bat 2 process, and this is the first I've heard of it! To me it sounds more like Springsteen than it does Steinman (especially the acoustic version) with the Steinman touches being largely cosmetic (mainly the backing vocals, which I'm SURE are a deliberate reference to Stark Raving Love / Holding out for a Hero). But the inference in the information we have is that Steinman and Meat recorded this during the Bat 2 sessions. If that is the case that makes it the only non-Jim song that Jim has produced Meat singing in the studio! One of a kind! I've often thought that it is weird that there is a sub-concious expectation of some kind that when jim and meat work together, it has to be 100% steinman material. These days it's a little different, cause the focus seems to have shifted back to a "songs by Jim Steinman" project anyway(thanks mainly to Over the Top cum Dream Engine I guess?), but I've always thought if jim and meat were to make an album ala Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire or Welcome To The Neighbourhood it would be a very beautiful thing. And lastly -- does anyone else hear LARGE similarities with ALIVE in this song?? "Hey Desmond, I have this song some guy wrote for me 15 years ago, could you pass it off for me into something new?
