The interpretation *I* had was that it was no longer a musical. More of a "song cycle" or something of that description. Think "Tell Me On A Sunday" by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black.
And Wilbury, the show with all the motorcycle stunts etc. is "Bat Out Of Hell"
