since I don't have your email I'll just put it here... anyone else thinking of visiting Oslo, or who knows the city... please feel free to take or add notes!!
Vigelandsparken is a thing to see, wonderfull park full of statues depicting people where you can bring a onetime grill and have a bbq on the grass...
Karl Johan's gate is great, Oslo's main street leading from the Central Station to the Royal Palace.
I also recommend a fjordcruise, wonderfull sights and great commentary. There is also the boat service to the islands in the fjord containing the main museums, including the Con Tiki museum for Thor Heijerdahl fans.
I would advise them to buy what we call a 7-dagers kort, this is a card that allows you access to all subways, streetcars, busses and boats (except cruises) in the city of Oslo for 7 whole days and is cheaper than buying any and all loose tickets.
That is just off the top of my head before breakfast... if I think of anything else you'll be the first to know.
