Do you use more than one ISP? When are you off of your own nameservers? Are you floating to other geographical regions? Do you read internet web pages by virtual levitation?

If he was moonlighting as a normal DJ, question same? I have to assume yes. Because he is behind a silly old microphone in the middle of the effing night. Thank god for old microphones and middles of the nights. His shift begins at 1AM, so all his activities of the Friday before do not interfere. And, even if they did, as sometimes has been and could again be the case, such as extra airtime fill-ins, promo spot recordings, or engineering for off-site broadcasts, he has the compartments of his life activities somewhat on auto-pilots and he budgets pieces of himself between them. So, as you know, unless the actual Anton Fig is substituting for him being Jim as Anton Fig behind the drumset, he has his time budgeted for being that drummer. If you think he has to go out of his way to do that, he basically puts on a business suit and a well fashioned cap, and goes at it. But, that wasn't part of the question. However, I'm afraid it has to be part of the answer, because his apportionments of time is something he has to do on a daily basis, not just on the weekends to be a DJ. The time consumptions he has as Jim Steinman, fall into the budget of his time for being Jim Steinman functionally, being in the head of that work....and since drumming is not intellectually taxing, and being a DJ isn't intellectually taxing, he could even be working on his projects in his head and making notes as he goes along. Because drumming goes from 3pm to around 7pm, four days plus a little bit longer on one day per week. Rehearsals and special gigs excepted, this is pretty much a framework he could rely on. The band does do other things, such as each year, they are the house band for the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, they sometimes do commercials, and some session work. Plus, he has gigs in small clubs around town on an average of one per week. These scheduled things are his budgets, like we have budgets for money, he has budgets for his time.

Before 3pm, and after 7pm, on Monday to Friday, his life is a zone of his discretion as far as his works are concerned. Before 1AM and after 6am on Saturday, likewise. His sunday morning shift has recently been eliminated.

When anyone is busy totally consumed with things, they still make time for the important things in their lives. The important habits, the important visits, the important calls, the important activities. Around that, is the time spent on the things that alter, such as this BOOH project. When it is done, he'd work on something else. Before this, he worked on other things too. He is always busy.

His blog did not state that he does not have time to go to the bathroom, although I've seen him in times when he was under so much pressure that he complained to me that he didn't, and being as that place in his life is well progressed away from, I understand that he has taken some control of his time. As opposed to working on other projects as Jim Steinman along with the BOOH project, his alloted time is consumed with the BOOH project.

I don't keep track of his time, other than how I am affected by it, to see when I might, his drumming on the show, or to hear him on the radio, but I trust that he apportions his time across all the complex demands of his life, even if he has different names and personas while traversing those lines. There are two public areas I see where he lets down his personas the most, and that is when he is composing his music, and when he is playing music on the radio.

You might say he is a character, like a character actor, playing other people while other people let him. He has many good friends. I love it most when he is able to be just himself. But it is a hoot to see him play others. The role of Anton Fig is being played by Jim Cypherd; the role of Jim Steinman is being played by Jim Cypherd, the role of Dion Jackson is being played by Jim Cypherd, and so on. But when it comes to being Jim Cypherd, he is Jim Cypherd playing himself. And he is a totally great guy.
