Funny reply. I miss times when I used to be with Jim. They were a long time ago and they weren't as many as I would have liked because there were too many pressures. Even speaking with him on the phone I got to know his voice, talking to him at various times of the day and night. I got to hear his voice when he was getting up from sleep, when he was tired and not going to sleep, when he was tired and about to get to sleep, and all things in the middle. Like when he was in the middle of preparing for a session, or when he was relaxed without any particular deadline. I heard his voice when he was joking, when he was sick, when he was content, when he was angry....describing a situation that affects him between himself and others, as well as generally angry, when he was giving me his brand of vague wisdoms in the stead of specifics, when he was postponing a moment of having to say things he didn't want to say, and all the rest. There were many phone conversations, and some of them when he was in bed, far away from me.....well, a half of a mile maybe, but farther than a hand's reach. And there were times when he was with me, about to fall asleep and talking about something or other. I have my favorite times. And it is not sexual, but I love Jim's voice the most when he is in bed.
