Think of this. If energy can not be created nor can it be destroyed. How much energy does that equal in total? The answer is zero.

How is that possible?

The matter in the universe is made out of positive energy. However, the matter is all attracting itself by negative energy. This is how gravity exists. Two pieces of matter that are close to each other are pulled by the negative energy between. In the case of a universe that is approximately uniform in space, one can show that this negative gravitational energy exactly cancels the positive energy represented by the matter. So the total energy of the universe is zero. For all matter in the universe there exists an equal amount of anti-matter. Thus is total there is everything and there is nothing. Time has no beginning, it has no end, and yet it is. You have to believe in the unexplainable when you come to realize what a concept that is.
