Hmmm... influences on Jim's production, in my reckoning would be

Phil Spector -- no brainer.

George Martin -- cause the Beatles are indellible... and strings and horns and intertwining melody wise he's a god.

Bob Ezrin -- Jim wanted him for Bat? and he has such a great gestalt to all of his work, they're larger than the sunm of their parts.

Todd Rundgren -- recording vocals especially, I think.

And Gus Dudgeon too. And perhaps Mickie Most. And Paul Rothchild.
