One of the most ridiculous things I have seen coming onto the internet and therefore popular and worldwide culture, is the new ask.com and yahoo.com answers features where people ask questions for anyone to answer, and no matter who is answering, the question asker picks their favorite answer, right or wrong, as the one to follow. So you have internet searches now where you can find answers that people picked that is passing for fact, for knowledge, and some of these answers on those sites are beyond stupid. What standards do we have in this world now where we accept only the things we like, as the information we would accept for guiding our lives, making our decisions, or even learning when we take the time to learn? This is the pinnacle of tyranny, where the illusion of knowledge takes the place of actual knowledge, and what is going on in a situation like the producer question below, is the replication of that model. What does Wilbury think, did Jim learn from listening or did Jim learn from working, pick your best answer, your favorite answer. The really good thing is that Jim never let me in the recording studio with him so I never saw him working. Through his conversations and through others' examples, I learned the basic mechanics of what it entails. I went out of my way to do that. And doing that, I was violently attacked in the process, in an effort someone made to keep me ignorant. So before you decide to ignore me, think of how many people really hope you do, for reasons that are less than benevolent. | |
