| Well basically it goes quicker as it develops... making the pilot episode will take a lot longer than it will to make episode 50, where they already have everything designed, have a good idea of how things play, etc. a lot of animation is shortcuts, and when you're starting from scratch, there aren't many at your disposal (i.e. reusing the same background for a chase scene, or just redoing the mouth animation for a shot of a character sitting down talking to the others). and especially for a premiere episode, there won't be too many re-used sets or anything, and likely a big cast.. you want to grab viewer attention and make them want to keep watching, that would be tough if the whole episode is all in 2-3 rooms with the same 6 bikers. > > > > No connection, just another animated show about Bikers. > > Which isn't exactly a common concept.
