I love that song. There's a light in everybody's life. You have to think of Total Eclipse of The Heart for this one. "Every now and then I fall apart,...but there is a light in everybody's life", in juxtaposition.

Jim wrote it as "Frankenstein" when the character is FrankNFurter, because of the tie-in with Steinman as a name.
Furtermore, (sorry, had to, it was irresistable) there is a couple singing this as a duet, male and female parts, which is highly characteristic of Jim's sometimes proclivities, and he placed his own voice into the vocal of the bridge.

"In the velvet darkness, of the blackest night, burning bright" It is not so obvious, but that is like a light giving off sparks. A powder keg could be the dark thick of night and the giving off of sparks could be the energies of light punctuating it, defying it, and defeating it.
