Actually, it wasn't quite that way in my hospitalization at all. The second hospital which took spillover from the first, difference one is city with time limitations and the next is state without time limitations, wanted to discharge me sooner than I felt ready to leave. It took several phone calls on my part, which led to a phone call on my brother's part to his friend the State Senator, which led to a phone call to the hospital board, which led to a phone call to the hospital, which led to a phone call to my doctor, which allowed me to stay the extra time of buffer that I felt I needed. During this week, a compromise was made in which I spent the nights in the hospital and went out to their day hospital facility during the day. When discharged, I still went to the day hospital as was arranged in the negotiation, and there I was able to check myself in their roll call in the morning, go then whereever I liked, and return for roll call in the afternoon. It was a copasetic arrangement at that point which served my needs well. They didn't enforce the drugs on me...just gave me the scrips which I didn't take.
