Okay, listened to it now......done ranting (see somewhere else on this thread)....considering the fact that you used "For Sarah" (spoiler, spoiler!) the kind of context for this work is understood somewhat better, because one is as obsessive as the other in spirit. The adaptation is a very true to phrase one, and I think that you are right to the extent that if one is feeling pretty miserable about the present they may feel this way sometimes. I feel this way, sometimes, but like I say in my rant, I do manage to lift my head up and count the blessings....and as for there being a future, well, that is certainly a ray of hope.....but do I wish to return to a more innocent time in life, to return to times when I was able to make better choices, move in better directions, understand better, know more, and save myself then from what I am now? We could always wonder.....but the past is the past, the present is that which brings us our perspective, and the tuture is what brings us hope. The vocal is really good, and the only criticism I would make is the intro....I think it was more dark than the actual song structure contained, and didn't seem to balance with it...I may like to suggest that you bring that up a notch, to match the other tones....a little bit like that Wuthering Heights thing that Jim uses in "A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste", you know the one, that he sings but some people think he doesn't. Beautiful kind of reminder of a really emotional song. Despite my rantings, thanks for that.
