Totally agree with that. 'Bat 2', although a great album, didn't have the ground breaking effect that the original 'Bat' did. Granted, Jim's writing style was much better known then, but I can't help feeling the inclusion of so many songs that had been previously recorded lessened the impact somewhat. Any attempt at a "proper" 'Bat 3' (call it 'Bat 4' if you wish) would have to be 100% new Steinman - no recycling (well, I'd give him the odd line or refrain or two, but definitely no old songs). 'Bad Attitude' was definitely one of Meat's best efforts without Jim in control, but it was no 'Bat' album. | |
