As someone else pointed out, it's not just the length, it's the content. Quality + Quantity = Good. Crap + Quantity = Boring Load of Shite. And the 3 proponents of long messages hereabouts sadly fall very firmly into the latter category.
Let me put it another way. If you do write nuggets of wisdom (and it does happen, even for you, if only due to the law of averages), why hide those nuggets in a pile of manure?
