I never thought the movie would be like the '77 stage-show (although it would make an interesting film) because I know that the workshop was a "work in progress". The film followed the original story much closer with Hook being afraid of a mutant platypus instead of a crocodile which had bitten off his hand, Nana being a monstrous guard dog and the Lost Boys having their genes frozen in time. Also, the songs changed quite dramatically and I still don't understand why "Who'd Do The Dirty?" wasn't in the workshop
