I have always thought of Luciano Pavarotti as one of the most able singers for one of Jim's songs, and it saddens me to realize that there is a chance of losing him now, as Jim has stated in his blog. The news from Jim is the most direct and more detailed than in the posted news on the news sites...so his knowledge comes from someone close I infer....and Jim states that Pavarotti has lost consciousness.....there is an expectation, he says, that this is a grave condition. On the internet there is information pertaining to the Pancreatic cancer surgery had by Pavarotti, and the worsening of his condition subsequent. But it does not state why this deterioration. The only thing I can think of is to offer prayers to Pavarotti and his family, in this very difficult time...for a miracle, or for the memories. The Three Tenors as a musical group is one that has not been seen in the annals of music history, when classically trained and accomplished opera singers would come together and form a popular performing trio in their own right. I hope we may find some works yet to come from the Two Tenors, which would include Jim's compositions. Best, Susan | |
