| Hi, I'm Martin. I'm 35 and live in Knoxville, TN. I'm gay, single, lived in NYC for 8 years (the Clinton years!) and I have a myspace which is SeeingI as well. I got into Steinman in the mid-80s, thanks to "Rocky Horror." It was terribly difficult to track down Tim Curry or Little Nell records, but easy as pie to find Meat Loaf records! Slowly I realised who this "Steinman" person was, and started connecting the dots to other things I liked. I already liked Bonnie Tyler, and when I heard "More" on the radio I was captivated immediately. Imagine my delight when I read the writing credits! Then I found the vinyl of "Bad for Good" (complete with 45) and everything fell into place. All through the wilderness years* I kept the Meat Loaf & Steinman flame alive. "NO, Meat Loaf isn't dead. NO, he didn't choke on a sandwich - that was Mama Cass. And she didn't, either. YES, there is another Bat record coming. I swear!" Then it was all reality. Then I was at the Hudson, first night, and there were Jim and Meat in the flesh. Then the record was #1 all over the world. Glory days, and I laughed the laugh of the righteous, "ha-ha!" I had the great pleasure of meeting Jacqueline at the premiere of "Whistle Down the Wind." Can that really be ten years ago now? Good grief. I also saw "Dance of the Vampires" with her, which was less of a pleasure, but not because of the companionship, I assure you! Anyway, here I am, and it's always nice to chat with other Steinman fans. Nice to see you all! Martin * I am also a huge Doctor Who fan, which also had a 15 year fallow period before coming back bigger & brighter than ever. Hooray! | |
