| The problem, one of the only ones, with your point Pud is that you're basing thoughts on extremes that we've have here lately, pretty black and white stuff. You've been around here about as long as I and you know we've nearly all have had our debates and squabbling over crap over the years. We've had an awful lot of people grow up here and learn about life in our little microcosm. We've had all sorts. We've had alot of teenagers who've said stupid shit because they were teens and that's their job. I know my impression changed over the years about certain people as they grew up and learned more about the world and civility in general. So you're right, first impressions tend to stick but might not always be fair or easy to live down/around. Also keep in mind that this does tend to be a pretty judgemental group, so even after changing their tune it will likely take many posters here a LONG time to forget maybe an unfortunate event. One thing that really has always gotten Jim's fans riled has been what they see to be attacks on Jim or his legacy. That was what started the anti-Meat feeling back in '77, why Sonenberg was not well thought of and what prompted the biggest outcry over Susan here. So some BS is tolerated--Jim spins yarns and takes liberty with the 'truth' at times--but when people accuse Jim of being an imposter and fraud, that's way over the line and the peasants will be grabbing the pitchforks!
