Jim was a fan of the Yanks when the yanks were something to really talk about. The M&M boys (Maris and Mantle) - Baseball was something else then. I don't fault him for being a Yankees fan because he has history with them, both figuratively and literally. But when i see kids being yanks fans because they always win and then hear them chanting about 26 world championships, it bothers me - because since 1962 the Yanks have only won 7 world series, so kids today DON'T know those yankees. They know the Yankees that took severe beatinggs during the Matingly era, and then won a few in the late 90's. They hang onto that and try and tie it in with wins from a different era, a different team.
