I just assume he's *always* acting. I think the laying around on the floor backstage, fainting, etc. was all done for the cameras.
I do like how the focus of the documentary was all on how they would try to re-stage Paradise, especially after Meat said he never pays attention to the critics.
Like Dennis Quaid said, Meat likes to complain and have others pity him. Just part of his character, it seems. No reason it shouldn't surface for this documentary.
