Especially for that time. Just out of interest, what theatre song has succeeded on the radio since then? I mean, besides Andrew Lloyd Webber? Frank Wildhorn at least had 3 hits in the 90s.

I only heard about it researching the album.

It's definitely more exciting than those, still not as exciting as Cats though (for me, it needed that "Memory" moment although "I am the Starlight" came soo close). I think I ranked "Aspects" high on my list? I don't remember because it's always changing. I have a love/hate "relationship" with that one. "The Woman In White" never came to Melbourne as planned

Was there supposed to be one? I had the impression that it started off as a film but THEN became a stage project. I know Margoshes was attached for arrangements on the film "Cats" that would have an extra song, Tom Stoppard penning the screenplay and a cast of celebrities (i.e. Billy Joel for Rum Tum Tugger, yikes.) I've also heard the rumour that Stoppard recycled lines from his screenplay into "Shakespeare In Love" or something

Exactly. It's the kind of thing you would stick a bunch of stars in.

As far as I know, there are no specific plans for "The Confidence Man". All I know is that Ray's daughter has come up with a new concept that ought to be really powerful. He's supposed to be getting to work on it after he's finished a play, then I don't know what will happen. Broadway is such a ruthless business, and Off-Broadway is flying off the radar, I'd be fucking thrilled if it got produced in his and Jim's lifetime.
