| Regarding the whole IPs thing. Doing that would prove that I'm not Susan, but I'm still against it for the reasons I mentioned in the other post. If all the posts on here were given a public IP stamp, the board would get filled up with boring pointless threads about "where does your program say his IP is from?" and all the conspiracy theories. The board would get cluttered with conspiracy talk, at least at first. Jacqueline made a post a few weeks ago that made little sense to me. In it she implied that some members here were using duplicate accounts to reply to themselves, but that she would be doing nothing to name them or remove them. I see no point in that whatsoever. If you believe they're duplicates, why not remove them or at least name them? And if you aren't convinced enough to do that, why tell the board this announcement that makes everyone suspicious? Why not at least name who you think the duplicate accounts are? If you don't, it encourages the suspicion toward potentially everyone, and not just the few against whom it was probably intended. Some people seem to have taken that post and used it primarily to make insinuations against Susan, meanwhile there never have been other posts here similar to Susan's. The best idea is for the admin to assure everyone here that she actually is removing duplicate accounts, and then remove them, so the members don't have to fill up the board with their unsubstantiated, and often very stupid, conspiracy theories. The post that was made a few weeks ago convinced many here that there are duplicate accounts and that NOTHING is being done to change it, and this is the only board I've ever seen where that strange sort of announcement has been made. At the very least, the board should be told who the duplicate accounts are, instead of just implying vaguely that there are some and that they won't be named or deleted. Another possible idea would be to get a volunteer, maybe daveake, with a lot of IT knowledge, and let him see the IPs as well. Then that person would, without discussing it on public forums, help make the judgment call as to which accounts are duplicates. And then the admin would actually remove all the believed duplicates, so it's not an issue anymore. I realize admin issues are none of my business so sorry if that input is not wanted. | |
