In team sports, the athletes almost never get cut from the team during the competitive season. They get released in the offseason, once coaches have a change to evaluate what happened last season and what the prospects are for the next one. The performing arts can work the same way. When band members are fired it's usually not when the concerts are happening. If TDE is stalled because they cannot interest record labels/investors, they may do a 'lineup change' to help themselves move forward. At any rate, I have no idea what they're doing, I'm just guessing. I don't see why it would be impossible to release somebody from a project that isn't performing at the moment. > Fortunately Rob Evan is still in demand. I saw an > Adrienne Warren listed in the cast of a production in GA. > People have responsibilities. This is very true. There was an article about Warren posted here recently, and she was in Dreamgirls in Atlanta over the summer, and is a full-time student. Rob's got stuff going on as you well know. However, none of that really tells us whether or not TDE is changing its lineup. It's pretty clear from past announcements that TDE wanted to release an album and have larger concerts in 2006. That obviously did not work out, so I think it's natural to wonder if they will try again with exact same people, or if they'll change the personnel in some way. Some of the fans who met Steven Rinkoff (the main producer of TDE) in Europe posted here that the emphasis of TDE will be on Adrienne and not Rob, whereas in 2006 Rob sang lead on most songs. JSteinfan, the boardmember who met Rinkoff in Hartford recently, posted here that TDE is undergoing "age reduction and gender re-assignment surgery". If these fans got an accurate impression, then Rob is at least being de-emphasized, or at most replaced with a younger female singer. | |
